Parallel Arch Stabilization for Optimal Airway Dilation

A bilateral posterior stabilization device results in parallel maxillary and mandibular planes. Molar stabilization prevents or completely eliminates slant, thus maximizing oropharyngeal airway opening.

An anterior stabilized jaw registration device results in slant, an acute angle between the dental arches, narrower at the posterior than anterior. Slant in the jaw registration for a sleep apnea patient assumes a suboptimal treatment position that diminishes airway opening.
